Fire Burning

If you've ever wondered like I have how exactly arson investigators do their job (such as determining if a wildfire was started intentionally), read this New Yorker article by David Grann. He makes a good argument against the death penalty, which is that "experts" can wildly overestimate how much they know, a dangerous tendency in life-or-death decisionmaking. Incidentally I'm currently reading Nassem Taleb's The Black Swan, which argues in part that experts consistently overestimate their knowledge of specific subjects.
