Kirk Herbstreit, the voice of Madden 2008 who, along with Lee Corso, guided fictional Longhorns superstar RB Alex Leonard to, among other records, a 600-yard, 8 touchdown game running two plays, Double Drags and Option Right, made the colossal mistake of having his house burnt down by the fire department on purpose (for a training exercise) without confirming that this donation actually counted as tax-deductible by the IRS. Oops. Thankfully, he built a million-dollar house on top of the ashes, so it doesn't seem that this was a complete loss, but his suit for recovering the non-deducted deductible is now pending.
