Ed Reed may be great in the secondary, but he'll never be known as a python tamer

Adding to Reggie Wayne's motivation to do well this week, when he lines up for Indianapolis this Saturday against Baltimore, he will see, on the other side of the field, the man who killed his pet python. (Side note: the prior sentence had originally read, "the man who killed his pet python, Ed Reed, but I know certain grammar aficionados in the audience would have howled at my distortion of the English language in suggesting that Reggie Wayne's pet python was named Ed Reed. So I'm using this long-ass parenthetical to explain who it was that killed Reggie Wayne's pet python, Law.)

As I am preparing for my trial today in Trial Advocacy Workshop, one thing keeps popping in mind: keep your language simple. No lawyerly words. It looks like Ed Reed took that lesson to heart:

He [Reed] apparently also had days he didn’t feed it [Law the Python]. Wayne went back to Miami during his bye week and noticed that his snake was sluggish. He nursed it back to health and then returned to Indianapolis to finish the season, leaving Reed to watch over Law again. Bad decision.

One day, Wayne got a text message from Reed:

“Hey, man, Law dead.”

RIP Law the Python [relative pictured below]. You will be avenged this weekend.
